²⁷ Therefore, he got up and set out.

Now there was an Ethiopian eunuch,^[a] an official at the court of the Candace, that is, the queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of her entire treasury. He had come to Jerusalem to worship ²⁸ and was now returning home. As he sat in his chariot, he was reading the prophet Isaiah.

²⁹ Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join that chariot.”
